I love having people over, but I used to notice every dog smell, paw mark and bit of dirt ten minutes before the doorbell rang. The dog is allowed on our furniture, so simply shutting him away never felt like the answer. Keeping these gloves by the entryway means I can deal with the source after each walk instead of trying to rescue the whole house later. His paws and belly are clean enough for normal indoor life, the sofa stays presentable and I feel comfortable inviting people in without wondering whether they notice the dog before they notice the home.
